Emily is now 7 weeks old. She grows cuter every day!! She is so alert now and is starting to develop her own little personality. We've learned she LOVES to sleep on her tummy, which of course goes completely against the American Academy of Pediatrics "Back to sleep" campaign. Of course, lol. We let her sleep on her tummy during the day when she's napping and we can keep an eye on her...but I'm too paranoid still to let her sleep on her stomach at night when we're sleeping too. This means, for the time being, that Eric and I are up more at night because Emily get's fussy. It could be so much worse though, so I really can't complain!!! We just started feeding Emily 4oz bottles yesterday. We had been feeding her 3 oz every 4 hours, but she was still hungry. We had tried 4 oz a couple of weeks ago, but it was just too much and came right back up. She seems to be doing well with it now though. It's hard to believe that just 7 "short" weeks ago she was only taking 0.5 oz at a feeding!!!!!
In other news, I went to start a load of laundry on Sunday only to find that the washing machine had bit the dust. We kind of knew it was coming. The previous owners left all of the appliances, and by the looks of them, the washer and drier were probably born the same year Eric and I were!! They still worked however, so we just decided to keep on using them. The last month or so the washing machine would shake the whole house when it was in spin cycle and neither Eric nor I could figure out how to balance it and fix the problem. Well, I couldn't even get the washer to turn on, so we went to Home Depot for a new set. We ended up getting an LG set of front loaders. I'm so excited!!! They'll be delivered on Thursday...and it's not a day too soon! Not being able to do laundry has been hard!! This of course goes to show how spoiled we are these days. I have no clue how to wash clothes without that new fangled machine!!!! I would not have made it 100 years ago!!!! The icing on the cake was Eric buying me an above range microwave. We had a microwave on the counter that took up a decent amount of space, and I had wanted an above range one for a while. So, Eric made it a late Christmas present. We bought and installed it ourselves. This meant moving one cabinet up about 5 inches. It took a little longer than we predicted (but what home improvement project doesn't???!!!) but I love it!!! Where the old microwave was is now my little coffee bar. One of the things I really love about our house is our kitchen, and now it's even better :)
Here are some more pictures of Emily at 6 weeks, our home improvement project, and new pics of our little 7 week old :)

Fixing up the kitchen (now I'll dream of the day when I get my granite counter tops, hehe) Eric said it'll be when Emily leaves for college, lol. I beg to differ!!!!
