Three Weeks Old

Our little Emily is already three weeks old!! Time has gone by so fast! It seems like just yesterday we were in the hospital with our brand new baby. I think we've taken to parenting pretty darn well. We work great together as a team!! Emily is perfect. She had her 2 week check-up last week and was back up to 6lb 8oz and was 19 1/4 inches long. I was nervous that she came in 1 oz under birth weight, but the pediatrician said it was just fine. She was a little early anyway. As he put it, Emily is "petite." She's been eating well. She gets breast milk during the day and formula at night. She eats about every 3-4 hours with a 5 (ish) hour stretch at night and takes an average of 2.5-3 oz at a time. She's pooping and peeing like a champ!

Emily is the best baby. She's very mild tempered and hardly ever cries. She loves to sit and stare up at the ceiling fan. She also loves the new play mat that Mema got her for Christmas. During tummy time she'll look at herself in the mirror, and can turn her head from side to side! She and Papa are best buddies and she loves to be held by him. At night, she loves to snuggle next to mema in her warm pajamas!! I'm really cherishing this time here with my family in CA. Eric and I have had so much fun learning to play pinochle. Papa cracks me up with his "if I don't get aces in the first four cards I wont get any." Amazing how he's had 1000 aces about three times in the last few weeks...no one else has, haha!!! Mema has spoiled us with delicious home cooked meals. We've been so blessed to spend the past month out here. It's hard to believe in less than a week we'll be headed back to Colorado!!! I'll miss being here, but I'm looking forward to sleeping in my own bed and introducing Emily to my friends back home. It looks like we'll be taking the southern route back home since they're expecting snow in Lake Tahoe and in Salt Lake City during the days we plan to travel. The southern route is a little longer...but it's not worth risking getting stuck in a storm just to save a few hours in the car!

Anyway, here are some more pictures of our precious baby girl and some of the BEAUTIFUL pictures our friend Michael (mgmphotographic.com) took of us. Enjoy :)
